a Representative from Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., January 27, 1950; B.A., history, University of Notre Dame, 1972; M.B.A., Duquesne University Graduate School of Business Administration; clerk, Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad (1974); buyer of nuclear components, Westinghouse Water Reactor Division (1974-1982); Pennsylvania State Director, American Energy Week (1981); member, Three Mile Island Repair and Recovery Team; member, Monroeville Planning Committee; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1982; reelected to the House to serve 17 more consecutive terms; appointed, board, Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (2003-2008); appointed, board, Public School Employees’ Retirement System (2011-2018); elected, chair, Minority Appropriations Committee (2011-2018); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2018).
