MUSE, John Jones, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, June 1, 1796 in Versailles, Allegheny County, Pa.; farmer; tax collector, Versailles (1845); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1847); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1854 term; reelected to the House as a Whig American for the 1855 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1856 term; elected, treasurer, Allegheny County (1858-1859); director, People’s Bank of McKeesport; died, December 2, 1879 in Versailles, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Miller United Methodist Church Cemetery, North Versailles Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
