BRACKENRIDGE, Henry Marie, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, May 11, 1786 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.; attended, French Academy, Louisiana; lawyer (1806-1810); appointed, Deputy Attorney General of the Territory of Orleans (1811); district judge, Louisiana (1812); appointed, commissioner, United States Frigate Congress to South America (1817-1818); judge, Western District of Florida (1821-1832); elected, United States Congress (Special Election, 1840-1841); appointed, commissioner,  United States Treaty with Mexico (1841); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the 1846 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1847 term; elected, delegate, State Whig Convention (1846); died, January 18, 1871 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
