McCURDY, Daniel E., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, March 29, 1807 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; teacher; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1840; reelected to the House in 1845 and 1846; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1841, 1847); elected, clerk of quarter sessions, Allegheny County (1849-1851); unsuccessful campaign, mayor, Pittsburgh (1856); proprietor, D. McCurdy & Co., iron works (1850); farmer; died, May 19, 1882 in Forward Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Monongahela Cemetery, Monongahela, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
