FULTON, James Alexander, a Representative from Armstrong, Clarion and Jefferson Counties; born, November 11, 1822 in Allegheny Township, Armstrong County, Pa.; attorney (1848-1895); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat for the 1853 term; partner, Golden & Fulton (1858); board member and registrar, University of Kittanning (1859); owner, the Mentor (1862-1864); peach farmer; trustee and lecturer, Delaware College (now University of Delaware) (1870-1884); colonel on the Governor’s staff, Delaware; engaged, drafting bills, Delaware House of Representatives (1893-1894); unsuccessful campaign, Governor of Delaware (1894); died, February 28, 1895 in Dover, Kent County, Delaware; interred, Old Presbyterian Cemetery, Dover, Kent County, Delaware.
