HOVIS, Raymond L., a Representative from York County; born in Phoenixville, Chester County, Pa., January 13, 1934; graduated, William Penn Senior High School; B.S., University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, 1955; J.D., University of Pennsylvania Law School; served, United States Army Reserve; attorney; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in a Special Election, November 4, 1969; Sworn-In, December 8, 1969 to serve the remaining 1969 term; reelected in 1970; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House in the 1972 General election; chair, York County Government Study Commission; managing partner, Stock and Leader (1995-1999).
