HOUSEKEEPER, Philip Washington, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, December 1, 1816; farmer; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Chestnut Level (1833-1887); justice of the peace, Drumore Township (1855); elected as a Temperance American to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1855; reelected to the House as a Republican in 1856; engaged, real estate; director, Oxford Bank; died, March 9, 1891 in Chestnut Level (now Drumore Township), Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, New Chestnut Level Presbyterian Cemetery, Quarryville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
