FAUSOLD, John J., a Representative from Westmoreland County; born, December 23, 1808 in Londonderry Township, Bedford County, Pa.; farmer; elected, school director, Mount Pleasant Township (1836-1857); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1847 term; reelected to the House for the 1848, 1849, 1856 and 1857 terms; elected, vice president, State Democratic Convention (1850); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senator (1851); justice of the peace (1853-1884); appointed, revenue commissioner, Westmoreland, Indiana, and Armstrong Counties (1863); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1867); died, November 14, 1884 in Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Ridge Church Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
