HILL, Samuel, a Representative from Fayette and Westmoreland Counties; born, February 21, 1796 in Westmoreland County, Pa.; farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1830-1831 term; reelected to the House for the 1840, 1841 and 1842 terms; elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1840, 1844); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1846-1848); reelected to the House for the 1852 and 1853 terms; died, January 9, 1859 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Poke Run Church Cemetery, Poke Run, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
