MUMMA, David, Jr., a Representative from Dauphin County; born, July 28, 1816 in Susquehanna Township, Dauphin County, Pa.; major, Dauphin County Militia, Pennsylvania Militia; farmer; engaged, lumber business; unsuccessful campaign for Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1840); lawyer (1853-1893); director, Cash Mutual Fire Insurance Company, Harrisburg (1850); member, executive committee, State Agricultural Society (1852); elected as an American to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1855; reelected to the House as a Union Republican in 1856; elected, delegate, Republican National Convention (1860); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1870-1872); died, June 20, 1893 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, East Harrisburg Cemetery, Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
