HARRIER, Austin M., a Representative from Centre and Clearfield Counties; born in Woodland, Bradford County, Pa., April 7, 1912; graduated, Clearfield High School; B.A., State Teachers College in Lock Haven (now Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania), 1937; attended, The Pennsylvania State University; served, Pennsylvania National Guard; school teacher (1937-1952); sales and management, State Farm Insurance (20 years); elected, school board, Girard Township; elected, Clearfield Area Joint School Board; member, Houtzdale Republican Club; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1962, 1966, 1968, 1970 and 1972; appointed, chair, Select Committee to Review Insurance Regulations (1974); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1974); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1964); died, September 24, 2000 in Clearfield, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania; interred, Bradford Cemetery, Clearfield, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.
