1964 -

Lloyd Smucker was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to Daniel and Arie Smucker on January 23, 1964. He graduated from high school in 1981 and attended Lebanon Valley College and Franklin & Marshall College. He was the 25-year owner-operator of the Smucker Company, a family-owned commercial construction firm in Smoketown.
He was elected to represent the 13th Pennsylvania Senatorial District in November 2008 and assumed office on January 6, 2009, replacing the retiring Gib Armstrong.
On November 8, 2016, Smucker defeated Christina Hartman in the race to replace the retiring Joe Pitts in Congress. Beginning in January 2017, he will represent Pennsylvania's 16th Congressional District.
He resides in West Lampeter, Lancaster County.
