BEAVER, Jesse L., Sr., a Representative from Juniata, Snyder and Union counties; born, March 8, 1811 in Pennsylvania; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Millerstown; toll collector, Pennsylvania Canal Company (5 years); merchant (1835-1851); agent, Pennsylvania Central Railroad, Newport; elected, auditor, Perry County (1 term); elected, associate judge, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Cumberland County (1852 -1856); elected, delegate, Democratic County Convention (1854); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1862 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1863 term; coal dealer; died, December 1, 1892 in Danville, Montour County, Pennsylvania; interred, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville, Montour County, Pennsylvania.
