(1856-1861); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1862 and 1863 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1864 term; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Rowland, Pa. (1866-1873, 1886-1892); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1873-1876); school director (25 years); died, March 7, 1895 in Rowland, Pike County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kimbles, Pike County, Pennsylvania.
