BROWN, William D., a Representative from Crawford, Venango and Warren Counties; born, September 6, 1823 in Sugar Grove, Warren County, Pa.; attended, Warren Academy; teacher; attorney-at-law; elected, justice of the peace, city of Warren (1849-1850); elected, District Attorney, Warren County (1851-1855); appointed, draft commissioner, Warren County (1862, Civil War); elected as a Union Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1862, 1863 and 1864; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1865); director, First National Bank of Warren; co-owner, Citizens’ Savings Bank; elected, president judge, 37th judicial district, Warren and Venango Counties, (1881-1891); died, September 17, 1918 in the city of Warren, Warren County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oakland Cemetery, Warren, Warren County, Pennsylvania.
