KATZ, Alvin, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in the city of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., August 30, 1936; attended, Wharton School of Business and Finance, University of Pennsylvania; served, United States Army (1958-1964); leader, 63rd Ward Republican Executive Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives’ 170th District by Special Election on May 19, 1970 to serve the remaining 1969 term; Sworn-In, June 15, 1970 and reelected in 1970; elected to the 176th District in 1972, 1974 and 1976; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1978); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1978).
