BALSBACH, John, a Representative from Huntingdon, Juniata, Mifflin, Snyder and Union counties; born in Highspire, Dauphin County, Pa., June 7, 1824; elected as a Union Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1864 term; reelected to the House as a Republican for the 1865 term; member, board of directors, Juniata Valley Bank; chair, Juniata County Republican Committee (1871); agent, Pennsylvania Railroad; died, March 14, 1882 in Port Royal, Juniata County, Pennsylvania; interred, Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal, Juniata County, Pennsylvania.
