ALLEMAN, Hiram C., a Representative from Dauphin County; born, September 15, 1831 in Highspire, Dauphin County, Pa.; attended, Dickinson College; first lieutenant, Company E, 15th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861, Civil War); judge advocate, general court martial (1861, Civil War); lieutenant colonel, 127th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1863, Civil War); colonel, 36th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1863, Civil War); attorney; elected, solicitor, Dauphin County (8 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Union Republican in 1863 and 1864; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1865); elected, delegate, Republican National Convention (1868); appointed, State Bank Commissioner; presidential appointee, District Attorney, Colorado Territory (1873-1875); died, October 22, 1906 in New York City, New York County, New York; interred, Oak Hill Cemetery, Washington, District of Columbia.
