SHAFFER, David, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, 1831 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.; coal merchant; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1866 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1867 term; coal miner; died, February 4, 1906 in Chartiers Township (now Pittsburgh), Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Jennings Cemetery (now Mount Pisgah Cemetery), Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
