HOOVER, Hiram Conrad, a Representative from Montgomery County; born, October 23, 1822 in Gwynedd Township, Montgomery County, Pa.; music teacher; farmer; land developer; proprietor, feed, lumber and coal businesses; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1861, 1862, and 1863; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1864); elected, associate judge, Montgomery County (1865-1875); elected, justice of the peace (15 years); elected, school director (17 years); chair, Montgomery County Democratic Committee (3 years); trustee, Ursinus College (1878-1902); trustee, Franklin and Marshall College (5 years); president, Norristown and Central Square Turnpike Company; died, March 20, 1911 in Hooverton, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Boehm Cemetery, Blue Bell, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
