(1858-1861); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1866 and 1867 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1868 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1884); director, Potter Township school district (12 years); president, Farmers’ Mutual Fire Insurance Co. (16 years); president, Centre Hall Water Co.
