HOFFMAN, Henry Bernhart, a Representative from Dauphin County; born, September 22, 1828 in Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pa; teacher; railroad ticket and freight agent, Millersburg and Herndon; contractor; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Union Republican in 1865 and as a Republican in 1866 and 1868; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1867); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1869); appointed, prison keeper, Dauphin County (1876-1880); engaged, silver mining enterprises, Mexico (1884); died, August 2, 1893 in Millersburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
