KLECKNER, Charles, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, December 10, 1831 in New Berlin, Union County, Pa.; private, Company K, 6th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861, Civil War); first lieutenant, Company D, 48th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1862, Civil War); colonel, 172nd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1863, Civil War); lieutenant colonel, 184th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1864-1865, Civil War); hotel keeper; manager, Merchants Hotel, Philadelphia; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1868 and 1869 terms; not a candidate to the House for the 1870 term; died, July 1, 1911 in Shamokin, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, New Berlin Cemetery, New Berlin, Union County, Pennsylvania.
