CUMMINGS, John Williams, Jr., “Jack,” a Representative from Lycoming, Snyder and Union Counties; born, February 8, 1802 in Selinsgrove, Snyder County, Pa.; storekeeper; elected, sheriff, Union County (1834-1837); contract deliverer, United States Postal Service (1870); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1871 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1872 term; died, April 6, 1873 in Selinsgrove, Snyder County, Pennsylvania; interred, New Lutheran Cemetery, Selinsgrove, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.
