PUTNEY, David, a Representative from Armstrong, Clarion and Jefferson Counties; born, October 18, 1794 in Connecticut; elected, council, Freeport, Armstrong County (1833); owner, gristmill (1836-1840); owner, sawmill; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Putneyville, Pa. (1844-1861); merchant (1848); elected, auditor, Mahoning Township (1851); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1854 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1855 term; land surveyor; died, August 31, 1879; interred, Putneyville Cemetery, Putneyville, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.
