McJUNKIN, John David, a Representative from Venango and Warren Counties; born, September 3, 1839 in Centre Township, Butler County, Pa.; attended, Butler Academy; attended, Witherspoon Institute; attended, West Sunbury Academy; private, Company G, 14th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1862, Civil War); teacher; attorney-at-law (1863-1873); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1869, 1870 and 1871; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1872); engaged, oil business; unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1880, 1882, 1902, 1904, 1908, 1910); died, February 4, 1914 in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, North Side Cemetery, Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania.
