HEGEMAN, George E., a Representative from Bucks County; born, October 10, 1840 in Dauphin County, Pa; commissioned officer, Pennsylvania State Militia (1860); cigar manufacturer; elected, judge and inspector of elections, Bucks County (1860-1889); elected, high constable, Bucks County (1868-1870); elected, justice of the peace (1871-1872); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1872 and 1873; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1874); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Sellersville, Pa. (1887-1889); died, February 10, 1893; interred, Sellersville Cemetery, Sellersville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
