McCULLOUGH, Michael, a Representative from Berks County; born, 1834 in County Tyrone, Ireland; corporal, Company G, 20th Regiment, “Liberty Fire Zouaves,” Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (Civil War, 1862); first sergeant, Company A, 42nd Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (Civil War, 1863); member, Liberty Fire Company; welder, Seyfert & McManus foundry (26 years); elected, common council, Reading (1865-1868, president 1867-1868); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1872 and 1873; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1874); hotel keeper; proprietor, saloon and hotel, Reading; elected, select council, Reading (1883-1885, president, 1884-1885); died, September 12, 1899 in Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
