HEPFORD, Harold Joseph, a Representative from Dauphin County; born in Lower Paxton Township, Pa., July 1, 1924; graduated, Susquehanna Township High School, 1942; graduated, Dickinson College, 1946; J.D., Dickinson School of Law, 1948; fighter pilot, Air Corps, United States Army (1943-1945, World War II); served, United States Air Force Reserves (1945-1950); commander, Olmstead Squadron Air Force Association (1961); director, Dauphin County Young Republicans (1949-1951); attorney; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1963 term and served 6 consecutive terms thereafter; elected, Minority Caucus Secretary (1971-1972); elected, Majority Caucus Secretary (1973-1974); appointed, Pennsylvania Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1967-1970); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1974); died, March 22, 2010 in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania; interred, Shoops Garden of Rest, Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
