WITHINGTON, William Potter, a Representative from Northumberland County; born, 1829 in Snydertown, Northumberland County, Pa.; attorney-at-law; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Snydertown (1862-1867); elected, Democratic elector, Northumberland County (1868); elected, council, Snydertown (1872-1874); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1874 and 1875; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1876); died, December 2, 1881 in Snydertown, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
