HASKELL, H. Harrison “Jay,” a Representative from Crawford County; born in Titusville, Crawford County, Pa., December 4, 1939; graduated, Titusville High School; graduated, Mercersburg Academy; A.B., Stetson University; candidate, Masters Degree, Stetson University; completed, ROTC program; assistant, Pennsylvania Congressman James Weaver (1962-1964); administrative assistant, Pennsylvania Congressman James Fulton (1963-1965); assistant to the chair, Republican State Committee (1966); appointment secretary, Governor Raymond Shafer (1967-1969); assistant secretary for legislation, Governor Raymond Shafer (1969-1970); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1970; served 3 more consecutive terms; delegate, Republican National Convention (1972); unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the House (1978); died, July 28, 1990 in Sebring, Highlands County, Florida; interred, Fairview Cemetery, Pleasantville, Venango County, Pennsylvania.
