BOYD, Thomas Young, a Representative from Wayne County; born, January 6, 1823 in Damascus Township, Wayne County, Pa.; engaged, lumber business; proprietor, gristmill, sawmill and blacksmith shop; farmer; appointed, Postmaster, United States Postal Service, Eldred (1854-1855) and Boyd’s Mills (1855-1859, 1869-1874, 1882-1885); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1874, 1875 and 1876 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1877 term; elected, delegate, Republican National Convention (1888); died, March 7, 1889 in in Damascus, Wayne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Calkins Union Cemetery, Milanville, Wayne County, Pennsylvania.
