ACHENBACH, George A., a Representative from Clinton and Lycoming Counties; born, October 22, 1815 in Columbia County, Pa.; store clerk; manager of mercantile interests for a furnace company; engaged, real estate; elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1852); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat to serve the 1860 term; elected, delegate, Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention (1872-1873); reelected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the 1875 and 1876 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1877 term; reading clerk, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1877-1878); died, November 17, 1886 in Loganton, Clinton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Loganton, Clinton County, Pennsylvania.
