YEAKEL, Josephus, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in Springfield Township, Montgomery County, Pa., April 19, 1839; private, Company A, 150th Regiment, “Bucktails,” Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1863, Civil War); private, 135th Company, 2nd Battalion, Veterans Reserve Corps, United States Army (1864, Civil War); printer, Manayunk Star (1868-1870); publisher, Manayunk Sentinel (1870-1890); chair, 21st Ward Republican Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania  House of Representatives for the 1875, 1876, 1877 and 1878 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1879 term; city real estate assessor, Philadelphia (1879-1901); died, March 31, 1901 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
