STOBER, Jeremiah Albert, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, January 20, 1842 in Clay Township, Lancaster County, Pa.; attended, Ephrata Academy; private, Company D, 50th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1863, Civil War); store clerk; engaged, surveying and conveyancing; cigar manufacturer and tobacco dealer; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Schoeneck, Pa. (1869-1871); justice of the peace, West Cocalico Township (28 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1874, 1875, 1876 and 1877; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1878); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1899-1906); elected, Pennsylvania State Treasurer, 1909 (died prior to taking the oath of office); died, January 10, 1910 in West Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mellingers Cemetery, Schoeneck, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
