ALLEN, Robert, a Representative from Berks, Northumberland and Schuylkill Counties; born in Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pa., October 14, 1945; graduated, Pottsville High School; B.A., business administration, Lycoming College, 1968; graduated, Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science; licensed funeral director; part owner, Allen and Pugh Funeral Home, Pottsville; elected, mayor, Pottsville (1976-1981); legislative liaison, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources (1983-1985); deputy secretary of legislative affairs, Office of the Governor (1985-1986); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1989 term; reelected to serve 8 more consecutive terms; appointed, Select Committee to Investigate the Divestiture of State General Hospitals (1990); appointed, Pennsylvania Milrite Council (1993-1994); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 2007 term; consultant, Bob Allen and Associates (2007-2020); partner, Allen-Goodman & Associates, political consultants (2021-present).
