MADILL, Henry John, a Representative from Bradford County; born, March 30, 1829 in Hunterstown, Adams County, Pa.; colonel, 35th Regiment, 6th Pennsylvania Volunteer Reserves (1861-1862); brevet major-general, 141st Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1865); attorney-at-law; elected, register of wills, recorder of deeds, and clerk of Orphans Court, Bradford County (1866-1869); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1878; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1880); elected, prothonotary, Bradford County (1891-1894); unsuccessful campaign, prothonotary, Bradford County (1893); died, June 29, 1899 in Wysox, Bradford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Wysox Cemetery, Wysox, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
