HALLOWELL, Edwin H., a Representative from Montgomery County; born, April 2, 1844 in Abington Township, Montgomery County, Pa.; farmer; elected, school director, Abington Township; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1876, 1877 and 1878; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1880); chair, Montgomery County Democratic Committee (1886); elected, delegate, Democratic National Convention (1888); elected, United States Congress (1891-1893); unsuccessful campaign for reeelction to Congress (1892); died, September 13, 1916 in Abington Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Abington Friends Cemetery, Jenkintown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
