GORDON, Dr. Benjamin Franklin, a Representative from Mercer County; born, August 29, 1822 in Lackawanna Township, Mercer County, Pa.; attended, Mercer Academy; M.D., Cleveland Medical College, 1842; physician, draft board, Mercer County (1862, Civil War); teacher; physician; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1879 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1880); member, Mercer County Republican Executive Committee; trustee, Pine Grove Normal Academy; justice of the peace (1895); died, January 3, 1899 in the city of Mercer, Mercer County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mercer Citizens Cemetery, Mercer, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
