EARLEY, Charles Richard, “C.R.,” a Representative from Elk County; born, May 1, 1823 in Allegany County, NY; mercantile appraiser, Elk County (1857-1858); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the 1862 and 1863 terms; reelected to the House as an Independent Democrat for the 1866 term; part owner, Elk County Railroad & Mining Gazette Company (1867); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Earley, Pa. (1868); superintendent, Daguscahonda Railroad (1871); organized, Elk County Bank (1874-1877); reelected to the House as a Democrat for the 1877, 1878 and 1879 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1880); died, May 16, 1898 in Ridgeway, Elk County, Pennsylvania; interred, Pine Grove Cemetery, Ridgeway, Elk County, Pennsylvania.
