ECKENSBERGER, William H., Jr., a Representative from Lehigh County; born in Cementon, Lehigh County, Pa., April 29, 1928; graduated, Whitehall High School, 1946; B.A., Muhlenberg College, 1951; LL.B., George Washington University Law School, 1955; served, United States Army (1950-1952, Korean War); professional baseball player, Carthage (Mo.) Cardinals (1946); school teacher (1956-1964); attorney (1956-present); elected, justice of the peace (1958-1965); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1965 term and served 5 consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1976); unsuccessful campaign, judge, Lehigh County courts (1971); appointed, Pennsylvania Crime Victim’s Compensation Board (1976-1979).
