TAGGART, Leonard, a Representative from Cameron County; born, April 6, 1845 in Wharton Township, Potter County, Pa.; private, Company G, 82nd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1862, Civil War); private, Company D, 44th Regiment, 1st Pennsylvania Calvary (1864-1865, Civil War); general store clerk; proprietor, drug business; engaged, lumber business; engaged, oil manufacturing; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Emporium (7 years); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1881 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1882); died, November 20, 1908 in Emporium, Cameron County, Pennsylvania; interred, Newton Cemetery, Emporium, Cameron County, Pennsylvania.
