McCACHRAN, Robert H., Jr., a Representative from Cumberland County; born in 1835 in Newville, Cumberland County, Pa.; attended, Big Spring Academy; attended, Jefferson College; graduated, Lafayette College; civil engineer, Harrisburg & Potomac Railroad (1870-1871); civil engineer, Pennsylvania Railroad (1872-1875); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1878 and 1880; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1882); lawyer (1883-1904); died, July 25, 1904 in Newville, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Big Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Newville, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
