LOCKWOOD, Marcus Lafayette, a Representative from Clarion County; born, December 5, 1844 in East Hamburg, Erie County, NY; farmer; engaged, oil business; organized, Pure Oil Company; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1877, 1878 and 1881 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1879, 1882); founder and president, American Anti-Trust League; founder and president, Sabine Oil & Marketing Co. (1901-1916); died, January 2, 1916 in the city of Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma; interred, Oaklawn Cemetery, Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma.
