FLINN, William, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, May 26, 1851 in Manchester, Lancashire, England; apprentice, brass refinishing; apprentice, pipe and steamfitter; proprietor, Booth and Flinn, general contracting;  member, board of fire commissioners, Pittsburgh (1877-1878); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1877 term; reelected to serve 3 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1882); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate for the (1891- March 7, 1902); Guernsey cattle breeder; director: Pittsburgh Coal Company, Pittsburgh Coal Company of New Jersey, Arkansas Natural Gas Company, Manufacturers Light and Heat Company and the Witherow Steel Company; president and director: Sharon Water Works Company, Pittsburgh Lumber Company, Duquesne Lumber Company and the Freehold Lumber Company; died, February 19, 1924 in Saint Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida; interred, Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
