BOYCE, John McCabe, a Representative from Washington County; born, August 11, 1841 in Herriotsville, Allegheny County, Pa.; attended, Jefferson College (now Washington and Jefferson College); corporal, Company K, 44th Regiment, 1st Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry (1861-1865; prisoner of war, Andersonville, 1864-1865); farmer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1880; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1882); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Boyce Station, Pa. (1891); vice president, First National Bank of Bridgeville; died, January 18, 1916 in Peters Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania; interred, Melrose Cemetery, Bridgeville, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
