BIERLY, Willis Reed, a Representative from Lycoming County; born, June 5, 1847 in Rebersburg, Centre County, Pa.; teacher; lawyer; organized, The Lycoming County Normal School; owner and editor, The Register (1872-1874); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1880; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1882); editor, Pennsylvania Justices’ Law Reporter (6 years) editor-in-chief, Pepper and Lewis Quarterly Digest of Decisions (20 years); died, January 18, 1930 in Riverdale, Prince George’s County, Maryland; interred, Saint Peters Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery, Rebersburg, Centre County, Pennsylvania.
