LORAH, George K., a Representative from Berks County; born, January 14, 1823 in Amity Township, Berks County, Pa.; teacher; engaged, mercantile business; farmer; elected, justice of the peace, Amity Township (1865-1880); elected, commissioner, Berks County (1861-1864); school director; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1880 and 1882; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1884); appointed, notary public (1884); elected, justice of the peace, Amityville (1886); president, Douglassville  and Yellow House Turnpike Company; president, Monocacy Valley Creamery Association; director, Oley Valley and Lehigh Railroad Company; director, Penn National Bank of Reading; died, May 14, 1892 in Amity Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Paul’s Church Cemetery, Amityville, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
