ZEIGLER, Jesse P., a Representative from Cumberland County; born, August 22, 1844 in Middlesex Township, Cumberland County, Pa.; graduated, Carlisle High School; second lieutenant, Company G, 8th Regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard (8 years); school teacher; clerk to the commissioners, Cumberland County (1876-1878); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1886 and 1888; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1890, 1894); health officer, Carlisle; died, April 3, 1919 in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Ashland Cemetery, Carlisle, Cumberland County.
