THOMAS, Charles Wesley, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, June 6, 1860 in the city of Philadelphia,  Philadelphia County, Pa.; clerk, Pennsylvania Railroad Company; engaged, real estate; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1885, 1887 and 1889 terms; resigned from the House in 1889; private secretary to the collector, United States Customs Service, Philadelphia (1889-1890); elected, delegate, Republican State Conventions; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1891-1898); elected, Senate President pro tempore (1893-1896); collector of customs, United States Customs Service, Philadelphia (1898-1907); died, June 14, 1907 in Linwood, Atlantic County, New Jersey.
